Gun101, LLC is a by-product of a Meet-Up group I organized years ago called Shooters Like Us. I continue to use that platform to bring people into the sport of shooting and self defense training as well as a variety of competitions and I highly recommend you join the TEAM. It's FREE. Simply log onto www.ShootersLikeUs.com and request your FREE membership. I’d be grateful if you did.
The goal of Gun101, LLC is two-fold: to serve the new shooter and provide a "one stop shop" for ALL levels of shooters. Please return often and see what developments have manifested in the sport that might help you improve your skill set.
Gun101, LLC (called Gun101) serves all levels of shooters. The first goal of Gun101 is to build your confidence of safely handling a gun (pistol, rifle and shotgun) and developing accuracy in hitting a target in real life self-protection situations. Your gun should feel as familiar and useful to you as a hammer does to a carpenter.
Secondly, if you have already mastered the above skills, Gun101 will assist you in attaining higher level skills so you can compete in Steel Challenge, IDPA or a number of challenges as well as feel confident in a tactical situation to include protecting yourself and your family. Fundamentals are fundamentals. At the higher shooting events you simply apply them faster.
Thank you in advance for sharing this website on social media to spread the word about our services.
Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions at 919.900.6520. Train daily, shoot safe!
Gun101 teaches a variety of safe shooting disciplines using live ammo, as they may vary depending on pistol, rifle or shotgun.
Entry level students are well supervised and in a safe place. The fundamentals of shooting are learned first such as proper grip, having your gun pointed in a safe direction at all times even when moving, reloading, holstering and drawing, and cleaning your gun.
Perhaps you have been shooting a long time at the range and you feel that you are proficient at hitting a paper target. In Advanced shooting, you will be able to take your skills to a new and faster level. You will become proficient at reloading under stress, moving while shooting, shooting behind cover, tactical skills that would be critical under an emergency situation where time and stress are involved. You will also be prepared for competition such as Steel Challenge, IDPA and others.
Shooters Like Us is a "Meetup" created in 2015 and has over 400 members. We strongly encourage you to click the link below and join the TEAM no matter what State live in. We would GREATLY appreciate the support.
Ms Kerry, Raleigh, NC
I grew up in a hunting family. I was fortunate to have a father who encouraged his daughter to participate in shooting guns, so I've been shooting most of my life. I thought I was a pretty good shot, and in fact I was pretty good at a stationary target at indoor and outdoor ranges.
Then, I took lessons from Cole. I realized I had no training of shooting under stress, shooting moving targets and lacked basic tactical skills. I trained with Cole for several months and I can't believe the difference that it made.
It wasn't easy because I didn't want easy. I wanted perfection. I wanted him to critique my current skills, dismantle them and train me correctly. That's exactly what I got.
This is what I ultimately got after extensive training (as a woman):
1. Total Confidence of carrying and drawing my pistol in a safe and timely manner.
2. A better awareness of my surroundings.
3. Skills that taught me to break down and clean my weapon.
4. Skills and confidence to compete at Steel Challenge and IDPA, which has increased my speed and my ability to feel safe and confident shooting under stress, shooting behind cover, shooting moving targets, rapid drawing from a holster, always having my weapon pointed in a safe direction when moving, and shooting with a timer.
I feel that all law abiding people and especially women should have these skills. Our world is increasingly more dangerous. You may think you know how to shoot a gun. You may even have a concealed permit, but like me, until you actually have training to take it to the next level, you're going to have some doubts which could make you hesitate in an emergency.
I hope this helps other women realize the importance of training and the potential for a competitive sport that is tremendously fun. I recommend training with Bill Cole because you are going to get the basics down correctly and then constantly improve on them. Who better to learn from than a 30 year Army Vet! Good Luck, hope to see you at a competition.
